This is the first investigation involving the new core team of Ralph Kelly, Steven Douglas & Bill Black
The team had been contacted by the owner of the house, a developing medium, claiming she was experiencing a male figure at various locations around the home. The presence was making itself felt by intensely cold spots and on a few occasions by manifesting in an aggressive attitude close to her. She also claimed that her children had seen the spirit of a young female child on the stairs.
She was becoming increasingly worried especially about the male figure that she felt may have had evil intent.
The team arrived at the residence at 20:30. Weather was warm and clear. Team members were Ralph Kelly (Paranormal Investigator), Steven Douglas (Paranormal Investigator) and Bill Black (Spiritualist Medium). We had planned the investigation before leaving Bills’ home but as we found out, this would eventually prove to be unnecessary.
We had just entered the house when Steven commented on the oppressive atmosphere. Ralph agreed that the house felt strange. We entered the lounge and Bill immediately asked if there had been any activity in the lounge that day. The owner said that a vase of flowers had been moving earlier. Bill asked Ralph if he felt the temperature in the room was unusual. Ralph commented that for such a warm evening, it was very cold in the room but that the cold was really only to the one side. Steven also felt the cold on one side. Bill said that he could sense a presence just out in the hallway.
We moved into the hall and Bill almost immediately came up with a name. The name of the spirit has been withheld from this report as it has since been confirmed regarding name, year of death, method and relationship to homeowners in Clackmannanshire. The spirit will be known as T for the remainder of the report.
Bill said that he felt the ‘T’ was intending to lead us a merry dance that night. He felt that ‘T’ had no connection with the house but that he was connected to current residents of Clackmannanshire. Ralph measured spot temperatures in the hallway using a laser thermometer which gave readings ranging from 23 deg C to 12 deg C. At one point Ralph held the laser beam on one point of the hall and noted the temperature drop from 20 degrees down to 12 degrees within 10 seconds. This was then reversed over the period of 20 seconds. Bill said that ‘T’ had moved from the hall and was laughing at us. The owner took us around the house but would not enter her bedroom as she was certain this was the centre of activity. When we entered the room, Bill said that he felt the presence of the spirit in a cupboard. He attempted to initiate communication with ‘T’ but after a while, he reported that ‘T’ didn’t want to talk but was happy for us to chase him around the house. He also got the impression that ‘T’ may have been subnormal in intelligence as he seemed to be drooling and was exhibiting childlike behaviour.
One strange happening was when Bill felt drawn to the bathroom and noticed a tube of body lotion on the shelf above the bath. He pointed out to Ralph and Steven that the lotion was called ‘GHOST’. The owner swears that this tube is normally kept to the rear of the shelf and should not have been visible especially that it should not have been at the front of the shelf with the name facing the doorway. Bill felt that this was ‘T’ having a joke at our expense. We returned to the kitchen.
Ralph and Bill went back upstairs with the radio microphone which was plugged into one channel of the JVC recorder in the kitchen. The other channel was being used for a PZM microphone which was being used by Steven to record an interview with the home owner.
On playback of the tape, when the radio mike is plugged in, the audio from the interview ceases completely. The radio mike exhibits extremely loud humming and buzzing noises interspersed with parts of the conversation between Bill and Ralph in the upstairs rooms. There are also loud tapping noises heard as if the radio microphone was being tapped by a finger. Ralph states that during use of the radio mike, he held it very still in his hand as he is aware that it is very sensitive microphone. Ralph has tested this procedure using the two mikes before the investigation and after to prove the technique with absolute success and no problems regarding the radio mike range in the average home.
While in the room, Bill said that he could sense ‘T’ moving from room to room as if trying to hide from us. Ralph suggested that, if ‘T’ had been retarded, he could be afraid of two adult males as he was used to manifesting only in front of the house owner or her children. Bill and Ralph moved from room to room in a vain attempt to find ‘T’. In the main bedroom, we found the EMF meter reading 2 to 3 mG around the owners’ wedding dress which was hanging next to the cupboard. Bill said that he felt that ‘T’ was very interested in the dress and the owner later confirmed that the more severe problems had only started when she brought the dress out to clean the train. Ralph found the EMF meter readings increased dramatically as it was moved across the floor towards the bed. The signal was very polarised and followed a particular line on the floor. Ralph concluded that there must be a mains cable below the floor to which the Gauss Meter was particularly sensitive. We returned to the kitchen.
Bill talked with the owner of the house while Ralph and Steven went back upstairs to place a door opening alarm on the cupboard.
While Ralph and Steven were in the main bedroom, Steven complained of a tight feeling around his solar plexus and a choking feeling after a few moments, Ralph began to feel the same effect and suggested that it could be ‘T’ attempting something. Ralph spoke out to ‘T’ and forcibly told him to leave. The effect was almost immediately withdrawn. Meanwhile Bill had been downstairs talking with the owner about the spirit of the child she had seen. He told her that there were in fact three children, a boy of about 12 years holding a babe in arms and a girl of around 5 years old. He got the name Amanda. Amanda was on the stairs and told Bill she liked to play with the toys belonging to the owners’ children. One of the phenomena observed in the house was some of the children’s toys being moved. Amanda said she wouldn’t go higher than the fifth stair as she was afraid of the height. Bill called Ralph and Steven to the head of the stairs and, as they stood at the top stair, both reacted to a very cold blast of air which seemed to come from the bottom of the stairs. Bill and Ralph returned to the top floor in an attempt to find ‘T’ who Bill said appeared to be hiding. They went from room to room again and finally Bill connected with ‘T’ just inside the bathroom. He found that ‘T’ was quite emotional and realised that ‘T’ was not in fact mentally deficient but had hanged himself. The drooling and protruding tongue that Bill had seen was probably the result of the method of death. He said that ‘T’ had been jilted and had committed suicide. He was haunting the house because he saw in the family the life he would never have. Bill became quite emotional and Ralph spoke out to ‘T’ advising that the best thing he could do was allow Bill to send him on and that it would end his pain. Bill said that ‘T’ seemed ready to pass on and that we should go to the kitchen and perform a clearing.
The team met around the dining table with the home owner and Bill discussed the matter of sending ‘T’ on. The owner agreed that she wanted all the spirits cleared from her home so Bill decided to send ‘T’ on first then to send on the children.
A clearing was performed during which ‘T’ was encouraged to cross over. When he finally went, the feeling in the house changed literally instantly. Bill then managed to encourage the three children to cross over. The clearing ended at 23:30. The change of atmosphere was very noticeable and when the owners’ husband returned around 23:45, he said that he had felt a change as he crossed the threshold and that the house no longer felt depressing but happy.
Epilogue: The name of the spirit ‘T’, his method and date of death and relationship to Clackmannanshire have been confirmed by independent research. No further information has yet been uncovered regarding Amanda and the two male children although our research continues.
